christmas | 2 more days

Only 2 more days until christmas, so i thought some festive posts were needed. Today we finished of decorating the christmas day table for a total of 24 people from my family. 

The colours were mainly gold and red (very traditional), but in the end we added some fake snow in the middle of the table and some snow spray to the windows which looked very winter-wonterland-esque. The giant baubles hanging from the ceiling have such a good effect, and i love the the gold and silver hanging decorations on the table. All very festive!

Finally getting into the christmas spirit today, I've been listening to non-stop christmas songs to get me in the mood. How exciting !  (My christmas spotify playlist here)

When In Portugal

After spending the majority of the two weeks relaxing by the pool, it was nice to switch it up a bit and sunbathe on the beach, with my feet buried deep in sand. Theres not really much else to do when in portugal other than eating, sleeping and laying on the beach or pool. The village where i stay is a quiet, small little place not far from Lagos where my family come each year mainly to relax and enjoy the sun.

But after all the sunbathing, We decided one day to take a trip in a speed boat, seeing all of portugal's beaches in the best way possible. We also stopped at a lovely little fish restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal in the boiling heat.

I didnt take as many picture as i woul've liked too as i was simply having too much fun and forgot to bring my camera along with me but the holiday was lovely and miss it now im back in england.

Summer Metallic

I've said to myself that i am going to start moving forward to different shops other than topshop but then i saw this skirt in the sale,and it just had to be brought.Metallic is such an unusual material and I suprisingly fell in love with it. I think its such a quirky, different peice and thats how i got drawn into buying it. The plain grey tee is an essential with the more loud, decorated items and really tones the outfit down. When i brought these sandals i defiantly thought they were a love/hate kind of shoes but when i tried them on they look so cool and are very comfortable

I am currently on holiday, and there isnt much wifi around so i'll try my best to keep up to date with new posts, replying to comments and updating tumblr. But will be completley back to normal when i get home and there will be plenty more summer looks coming.

Casual Summer

Invariably, when summer comes around properly in england and the true heat sets in, The trends tend to get a little more laid back and casual. I love this kind of style, when I put complete basics together and it can still look completley effortless. I've also paired this basic outfit with a pair of vibrant, sandals to make it stand out a bit more. I brought these sandals about a year or two ago and i love them still. The clash of prints and patterns makes these shoes look very quirky and cool, perfect for the summer months. 

Tomorrow I'm going on holiday for a couple of weeks, so posts wont be as active and there isnt much wifi around so i'll try my best to keep up to date with new posts, replying to comments and updating tumblr. But will be completley back to normal when i get home and there will be plenty more summer looks coming.

Whenever I upload a blog post i tend to only show the clothes that i have recently brought a week or so ago, but it's not everyday i wear brand new clothes that i just brought, however i do like to find some of my old peices that are not particuarly 'on trend' but are still wearable, and hope that they kind of look stylish.
But, on somedays i do struggle to find something to wear especially in the summer as i am hardly prepared (It's a bit late, i know) but i havent brought my usual staple peices.

So, yesterday i went to see a friend and then went into a little town nearby, the weather was boiling hot which meant my usual black highwaisted joni's were not on the agenda, So i had to bury through my wardrobe to find a pair of suitable shorts that still fitted and didnt show half of my bum. In the end i pulled out a pair of dark patterned shorts that i purchased in Tophsop about a year or two ago but still very wearable. In the end the day was spent not really doing too much that this basic outfit was perfect for the summers day.

The Makeover

At the weekend, i helped my friend izzy with her art project so she ended up doing all my makeup and taking some photos of me, which is not my forte as i am pretty awkward when deciding how to pose. But, I do especially love the makeup look that she acheived and i really want to try and re-do it all again. Its quite natural look with the nude lips, and big eyebrows but then the eyes really pop out with the big fake eyelashes and smokey eye. 

As you can see in the photo above, I also tried to acheive the 'milk maid braid' that I have seen around alot, I love to have big, bouncy and volumized hair so this hair style was a bit different to usual, and with all my layers it ended up looking a bit of a mess. But, it only took me about 5 minutes so i was pretty happy with the finished look and will defiantly try it out again.

The Check Blazer

I should probably start wearing a bit more colour and girly outfits for summer. But since the weather is still rainy and cold I havent had the chance to shop for summer dresses, so I have stuck with the black and white basic outfits. My new blazer which I have been wearing non-stop, is my new new fashion favourite and is perfect for any outfit to either dress it up a bit or be completly casual. I think i also need to cut down buying nearly all my clothes from topshop and experiment other shops a bit more.

I think this white zara slogan clutch bag which i purchased last week on my trip to oxford street is my new favourite possession. Its minimal, and very versatile which is why I paired it with my super casual outfit that I wore today. Today was one of those days where I wore no makeup, comfy, slouchy clothes and my loved white topshop skater shoes. I threw on this 'river island' oversized jumper before i went on a walk as in the evening it was starting to get a bit colder.

The Minimal

The one thing I love to do on a sunday is popping into London to either shop or enjoy a relaxing day finding new places to eat, shop, or just wander around. Today was one of those days where i ended up doing it all, We first of all went into this sweet french cafe where we indulged in an english breakfast with tea and orange juice (deeee-licious) and then we headed up to the hectic, tourist street which is of course Oxford Street where alot of shopping had to be done. After a day of shopping we soon found some more calm and quite streets to take some photos, and I dont think I've seen so many plants right in the centre of London before. Strange.

Pretty simple outfit. I agree.

But today was one of those day where I did not want to put loads of effort into dressing up to, well shop. So wearing all black and white, I wore my black Joni Jeans (as usual), a layered white top, a simple leather jacket with a little peplum style at the back, my grey zara bag, and finally my probably most worn shoes 'the converse'.

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter!

Today, was easter sunday and my family and I decided to hold a big easter egg hunt (Unfortunatley I didnt win!) But, we spent most the day socializing, and eating cakes and chocolate. Overall, it was a really nice day and I took some photos of the decorations as I thought they went perfectly with the easter theme.

I also decided to wear my zara dress again, with white converse and a denim jacket but didnt get enough time to take any photos as the rain would just not stop!
